Ambientia II

I’ve finally found a way to get more letters to you from this strange land.  I have been here for over a month now, and have found many new discoveries in my exploration.
Shortly after I wrote my last letter, I found a small device that I could connect to the electronic music device I found earlier.  I actually got that unit to work, and discovered that it simply needed to be played.  It took some time to learn how to use this instrument, but I soon discovered that it played better when I just let myself play it, unrehearsed.  I have decided to call this device the Synthitone.
Once I got the hang of it, I connected Synthitone to this new little device. This small device added a new depth to the music I was making.  It was as though the notes were coming from far away; from another dimension.  I then played a sequence of notes and a small portal opened in front of me.  Not large enough to travel through, but the right size to put small objects through.  I decided to try this with this letter I am writing now.  Getting these letters to you has become much easier now that I believe that they are actually going somewhere.
Yesterday, I explored more of this strange land, and came upon a clearing with an odd shape in it.  As I came closer, I recognized the shape to be that of an outdoor concert shell.  I wonder what this was used for.  Who used it, and long ago?  The structure was empty, but was tidy.  It seemed ready for a performance, should someone come along.
I am starting to begin to understand Ambientia.  It is really something of what you make it.  I am finding no shortage of food or drink here.  The shelter that I stay in is quite nice.  The weather is very warm.  Life is certainly not threatening here in any way.
Now that I have one instrument working, I think that there is more to be found.  For the past few weeks, at various points of the day, I have heard distant music.  Once I discovered it, I thought that the music may had been coming from the Concert Shell.  However, the lack of any activity there disproved that.  This music does not seem to come from any direction.  It is very hard to locate the source.  The music itself does not seem to have a complex structure, yet it seems to carry through the land.
I have now realized that I will not see any of the other travelers here in my version of Ambientia.  I sometimes think of how I will return, but realize that this strange place will present me with that answer when the time comes. Until then, I will make it my quest to search for more instruments.  I believe that more of these Synthitones could be very musically rewarding if tied together.
I think that I might relocate the Sythitone and the portal device to the Concert Shell.  The sound produced from these instruments is drowned out by the wind and trees.  Perhaps the Shell would amplify the sounds.
